The British pair fought back from a set down to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 against Harri Heliovaara and Patrik Niklas-Salminen in Espoo, Finland.

It was a crucial victory for Great Britain, who had lost the opening singles rubber of the tie to Emil Ruusuvuori.

Evans and Harris will now face either the Netherlands or Slovakia in the qualifying round in September.

The victory was a timely boost for Great Britain, who are aiming to reach the Davis Cup Finals for the first time since 2016.

Evans, the British No. 1, said: "It was a tough match, but we stuck together and fought hard for the win."
